Job Title:Solution Architect – part time 

Location:Remote with an expectation to attend meetings in Luton when necessary 

Day Rate: £600pd, Outside IR35 

Duration:  5 months

Role: 

 

We’re looking for an experienced Solution Architect to lead and define a robust application integration strategy for a major HR transformation programme. This pivotal part-time role spans 87 days over 5 months. 

 

You will be responsible for enabling seamless integration across a newly implemented HR Information System and its dependent systems. The role combines technical depth, architecture leadership, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver a scalable and future-ready integration framework. 

 

As a Solution Architect, you will: 

 

  • Define and lead the overall integration architecture and strategy
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and technical teams to shape integration requirements into viable architectural designs
  • Develop high- and low-level integration designs in partnership with system vendors
  • Establish and promote integration standards, governance models, and lifecycle management practices
  • Recommend and select appropriate technologies (e.g., API-based integrations, iPaaS platforms) aligned to cloud and hybrid environments
  • Ensure compliance with security policies, regulatory requirements, and performance benchmarks
  • Oversee test builds, environments, and validations in collaboration with project and testing teams
  • Manage support arrangements to ensure smooth operation of integration components
  • Guide user acceptance testing for end-to-end integration scenarios

 

Qualifications: 

  • Proven experience leading integration architecture for complex enterprise systems
  • Familiarity with HR or workforce management systems is a strong plus
  • Expertise in API-led integrations, cloud platforms, and hybrid infrastructure models
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Strong grasp of governance, compliance, and architecture best practices
  • Ability to work effectively within a part-time, time-boxed engagement
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strong relationship building skills, necessary to working in a complex multi-vendor environment
